ByteDance is the parent company of TikTok and Douyin and is the world’s largest social media company by revenue. Founded in 2012, the company reaches over 4 billion monthly active users, representing nearly half the global population. Its core strength lies in its algorithm-driven content discovery model, which has led to significantly higher user engagement compared to peers such as Meta and YouTube.

Financials

Beyond social media, ByteDance has built a diversified business spanning digital advertising, social commerce, AI applications, enterprise software, and gaming. In 2024, revenues grew to $155B, with projections of $186B in 2025, driven largely by international growth through TikTok and rapid expansion of live commerce via Douyin. Investments will be made through a three-layer Mauritius-based SPV structure. Investors will participate as limited partners in a structured vehicle that provides indirect exposure to ByteDance equity at an implied valuation of approximately $410B^*.
